Historia de nuestros pueblos
Esta publicación se la dedicaremos a algunos poblados que
se encuentran en la zona de influencia del Humedal de Matusagaratí.
This publication is dedicated to some villages that are in the area of influence of the Matusagaratí Wetland.
Meteti is a small village founded on August 6, 1998, which has grown to become one of the most important, followed by La Palma, head of the province. Many structures have been built to enhance our region, i.e., subsites of institutions, shopping centers, warehouses, among other buildings that have made people's lives easier. If you continue along the Pan-American Highway, you will reach the town of Yaviza, located on the banks of the Chucunaque River, founded in 1673. Here many people from different sites along the Chucunaque and Tuira rivers converge. Another great river is Balsas, where numerous villages are located, such as Camogantí, Bacao, and Tucutí. Also, we can mention, Garachine in the District Chepigana. Darien's thriving town is mainly made up of people with dark complexions who are mostly dedicated to fishing.
